Tailor-made specialist help in Sweden |
|
SYSLAB's first Swedish project was in connection with the European Union programme European Systems Laboratory for Innovation and Employment (ESIE). Our Swedish project partner was the Swedish Industrial Workers Union (SIF).
SYSLAB's Swedish projects have been tailored to handle quite specific challenges. The first was in Arboga in 1997, where the aim was to employ industrial specialists made redundant after VOLVO moved its aircraft engine factory to Trollhättan. The following year a project was established in Enkjöping - in this case too, to deal with specific challenges. Several large industrial companies, including mobile telephone manufacturer Ericsson and the Fläkt group, closed down operations or restructured, and many employees were laid off. The project received financial support from SIF and the Swedish Metalworkers Union - Metall
The projects in both Arboga and Enköping were very successful. Many former employees found new jobs and many new businesses were established. The project was completed in 2000.
